Lots of marketing meetings coming up this week for LeAnn’s Rimes Spitfire Record.
But before the next stage begins to prepare how the record will be released I felt it was important to call everyone who played, sang, recorded, mixed or wrote for the record and say thank you to them all.. I am so thankful that I reached out. Such beautiful conversations i had with these friends of ours. I believe we are gong to have a special intimate gathering of everyone again and play them the finished record. Can not wait…
There have been certain records i have worked on in my life that have been life turning points for me….”Soul Mission” record I did with Steve Cropper, Booker T Jones, Mavis Staples, Billy P that was a special one, Russ Taff’s ” The Way Home” and First Call’s Sacred Journey were both ones for me, then came Radney Foster’s “See What You Want Too See” which spawned Raining In Sunday, I’m In Godspeed, and more that was a milestone record for me to do, Neil Young’s “Living With War” and “Americana” were manhood turning points for me and Now this record with LeAnn which feels like a culmination of all the other music journeys i have been on but all rolled up into one… this one hits me to the core…
Like i have written before i have no control of what will happen next ( wish i did but i don’t) - if it fails or if it succeeds out in the world is completely out of our hands.. but the journey we all had together was in our control and it has been one fucking great ride.. i guess thats why i needed to thank everyone who helped..
we are about to step out on to the platform of a whole new ride and i most assuredly wanted to remember everything we did so far to get to this place… praying for great follow through …. Single title and release - album date to be slated is all coming up
